Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Drive Time Streaming provides in-car audio streaming on Android phones, tablets, and Android Automotive OS (AAOS) vehicle head units. The App is developed and owned exclusively by Transoceanic Software LLC and is distributed through the Google Play Store.

Drive Time Streaming is designed from the ground up with privacy as a foundational principle. The App does not require a Transoceanic Software LLC account, does not collect personal information, does not include analytics or tracking libraries, and does not transmit user data to us. You may connect the App to media libraries you operate or access — such as Plex, Subsonic, Audiobookshelf, Jellyfin, and similar services — for in-car playback; any credentials, configuration, activity, or other data associated with those services stays on your device and is never transmitted to Transoceanic Software LLC.

This Privacy Policy applies to all versions of Drive Time Streaming available on the Google Play Store. It does not govern the data practices of Google LLC, vehicle manufacturers, or any other third party.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

Transoceanic Software LLC does not collect, receive, store, process, or transmit any of the following categories of information through Drive Time Streaming:

• Personal identifiers — names, email addresses, telephone numbers, postal addresses, or other identifiers by which an individual may be identified.
• Location data — Drive Time Streaming does not collect, store, or transmit your real-time or historical geographic location.
• Device identifiers — including Google Advertising ID (GAID), Android ID, serial numbers, or similar persistent identifiers.
• Usage analytics — session duration, screen views, feature usage, navigation patterns, or similar behavioral telemetry.
• Crash and diagnostic reports — we do not operate crash reporting, error logging, or diagnostic collection of any kind, and we do not receive reports forwarded from Google or other parties.
• Advertising and marketing data — the App contains no advertising infrastructure and no user tracking.
• Payment or financial information — purchases through the Google Play Store, if any, are processed exclusively by Google LLC.
• Health or biometric data — including data as defined under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA).
• Transoceanic Software LLC accounts and credentials — the App does not require an account with us, and we do not collect or manage usernames, passwords, or authentication tokens on our behalf.
• Connected media service accounts — login credentials, server URLs, access tokens, API keys, or other account information for Plex, Subsonic, Audiobookshelf, Jellyfin, or any other media server or streaming service you configure in the App.
• Streaming configuration — server addresses, authentication settings, library or collection preferences, playback options, or other setup data for connected media services.
• Media service activity — browsing history, playback state, library requests, streaming sessions, or other activity related to your connected Plex, Subsonic, Audiobookshelf, Jellyfin, or other media servers.
• Communications — messages, email, call logs, or similar data on your device.
• Photos, video, or media — the App does not access, collect, or transmit photos, video, or other media from your device.
• Audio listening history — we do not collect records of what you stream, when you listen, or similar playback telemetry.

The foregoing list is representative of categories significant under applicable privacy law. The overarching principle is that Transoceanic Software LLC does not collect personal information from users of Drive Time Streaming — including any information related to Plex, Subsonic, Audiobookshelf, Jellyfin, or other media servers you connect through the App.

3. Information We Do Collect

Transoceanic Software LLC does not collect any information from users of Drive Time Streaming. We do not operate analytics, crash reporting, advertising, attribution, or any other mechanism that gathers user data. No personal information is transmitted to our systems or any infrastructure we control.

4. How Your Data Is Stored

4.1 Local on-device storage

Any App preferences or locally cached content are stored on your Android device or AAOS head unit using standard on-device storage mechanisms, subject to the device's built-in security controls including on-device encryption where enabled by the device manufacturer and operating system.

We have no access to, and receive no copy of, any data stored locally on your device. No locally stored data is transmitted to our systems or any infrastructure we control.

4.2 Connected media servers

If you configure Drive Time Streaming to connect to Plex, Subsonic, Audiobookshelf, Jellyfin, or another media server or streaming service, any account logins, access tokens, server URLs, streaming configuration, playback activity, and related data are stored locally on your device and used solely to communicate directly with the servers you configure.

Transoceanic Software LLC does not store, receive, or have access to that information. Connections between the App and your media servers occur directly from your device; that data never passes through our systems or any infrastructure we control.

4.3 No cloud synchronization by us

Transoceanic Software LLC does not operate cloud sync, backup, or account services for Drive Time Streaming. We do not receive or store copies of your App data — including credentials or configuration for connected media services — on servers we own or control.

4.4 No server-side storage

Transoceanic Software LLC does not operate servers, databases, or backend services that store, process, or receive Drive Time Streaming user data. No user data is transmitted to or processed on infrastructure we own or control.

5. How We Use Information

Because Transoceanic Software LLC does not collect any information from users of Drive Time Streaming, we do not use user information for any purpose.

We do not use any Drive Time Streaming information for:

• Marketing, advertising, or promotional communications;
• User profiling, behavioral analysis, or automated decision-making;
• Sale, licensing, or commercial exploitation of user information;
• Identification or re-identification of individual users; or
• Software analytics, crash analysis, or product telemetry.

6. Data Retention

Because Transoceanic Software LLC does not collect user data, we retain no user information. Any locally stored App preferences or cached content on your device is under your control. You may remove such data by clearing the App's storage in your device settings or by uninstalling the App.

7. Third-Party Services

7.1 Google Play Store

The App is distributed through the Google Play Store. Google LLC functions as an independent data controller for information processed in connection with Play Store distribution, account management, and billing. Review Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy before using the Play Store to download or purchase the App.

7.2 Android and Android Automotive OS

Drive Time Streaming runs on Android and AAOS platforms provided by Google and, for in-vehicle deployments, vehicle manufacturers. Those parties may process device and system information under their own privacy policies. Transoceanic Software LLC does not receive data processed by Google, vehicle OEMs, or other platform providers through the App.

7.3 Connected media servers (Plex, Jellyfin, and similar)

Drive Time Streaming can connect directly to media servers and streaming services you configure, including Plex, Subsonic, Audiobookshelf, Jellyfin, and comparable platforms. Those services are operated by their respective providers under their own terms and privacy policies.

We do not operate, proxy, or intermediate connections to your media servers. Account information, user activity, streaming configuration, and other data exchanged between the App and those services is not transmitted to Transoceanic Software LLC. Review each provider's privacy policy before connecting a service through the App.

Transoceanic Software LLC is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Plex, Subsonic, Audiobookshelf, Jellyfin, or any other connected media server software project or its developers, owners, or sponsors. References to those services describe optional third-party integrations only.

7.4 No other third-party integrations

Drive Time Streaming does not integrate:

• Third-party analytics SDKs (e.g., Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude);
• Advertising networks, ad mediation platforms, or attribution libraries;
• Social media or third-party login SDKs;
• Third-party crash reporting SDKs (e.g., Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry);
• User tracking, fingerprinting, or cross-app measurement libraries; or
• Any other library that collects or transmits user data to Transoceanic Software LLC or third parties.

We do not sell, license, rent, share, or otherwise transfer user information to any third party for any purpose.

8. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Drive Time Streaming is not directed at children under 13 and is not intended for use by children under 13, in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Because the App does not collect personal data from any user, the risk of inadvertent collection from children under 13 is minimal. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through Drive Time Streaming, contact us using the information in Section 13.

9. Your Privacy Rights

9.1 California residents — CCPA / CPRA

California residents have rights under the CCPA and CPRA, including rights to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, limit use of sensitive personal information, and non-discrimination. Because Drive Time Streaming does not collect personal information as defined under those laws, these rights are largely inapplicable in practice. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

California residents may submit requests using the contact information in Section 13. We will respond within forty-five (45) days of a verifiable request, extendable by an additional forty-five (45) days where necessary with notice.

9.2 EEA, UK, and Switzerland — GDPR / UK GDPR

Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or Switzerland's FADP applies, Transoceanic Software LLC does not process personal data from users of Drive Time Streaming because we do not collect such data. Data subjects in those jurisdictions who have questions about this policy may contact us under Section 13; we will respond within thirty (30) days, extendable by sixty (60) days for complex requests with notice.

9.3 Illinois residents — BIPA

Drive Time Streaming does not collect, capture, store, use, transmit, or profit from biometric identifiers or biometric information as defined under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA).

10. Data Security

We implement technical safeguards appropriate to our scale, including secure development practices, code review, and timely security updates.

Because user data is not transmitted to our servers, principal security controls are those provided by your Android device or AAOS head unit and the Google Play distribution platform, including:

• On-device data encryption where supported by the device and operating system;
• Android application sandboxing and permission controls; and
• Google Play review and app signing requirements.

We cannot guarantee absolute security. If we identify a vulnerability that could affect user data or device integrity, we will investigate, remediate, and provide notice where required by law.

11. International Data Transfers

Drive Time Streaming is developed and operated from the United States. We do not independently transfer Drive Time Streaming user data internationally, as we do not receive or process user data on our own infrastructure.

Users outside the United States who obtain the App through the Google Play Store should be aware that Google and other platform providers may process information in countries other than their residence, per those parties' terms and transfer mechanisms. Such transfers are governed by those third parties, not this policy.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may amend this Privacy Policy at any time to reflect changes in the App, applicable law, or our practices. Updates will be reflected by changing the “Last updated” date at the top of this document. The current version will be available on the Google Play Store product page and, where applicable, within the App.

For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to provide notice through the Play Store listing, in-app notification, or other practicable means. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, discontinue use and uninstall the App.

13. Contact Information

For questions, concerns, or privacy rights requests regarding this Privacy Policy or Drive Time Streaming's data practices, contact Transoceanic Software LLC. We will respond within a reasonable time and no later than periods required by applicable law (including forty-five (45) days under CCPA/CPRA and thirty (30) days under GDPR, extendable by sixty (60) days for complex requests with notice).

Because Drive Time Streaming does not collect account information, we may be unable to verify identity or associate a request with a specific user record. We will communicate that limitation transparently and work in good faith to respond to all inquiries.

Acknowledgment

By downloading, installing, or using Drive Time Streaming, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and agree to its terms. If you do not agree, discontinue use and uninstall the application from your device. We encourage you to review this policy periodically at xoceanic.com/drivetime/privacy.html for updates.
